Opportunities come along at the most unexpected moment and SMB’s need to be ready to take full advantage of any and all opportunities that come their way. So, as the title suggests, it’s time to Get your Elevator pitch sorted! There is a really simple article to help you do this in this article from Inc.com. Click here to read it. I struggled with mine for the first 3 or 4 iterations and I suspect many of you will too. It’s not easy to get an overview of your business down to a few sentences that will resonate with the typical prospect for your business and I certainly found that the only way to really get it sorted is to create one, run it past friends and revise it based on their feedback. Just make sure to adhere to the advice from Geoffrey James and soon, you too will be ready to get your message across. As Edison once said, “We should remember that good fortune often happens when opportunity meets with preparation.” Make sure you are prepared for the next time you get a chance – you never know who might be your audience in the elevator!
